Life is what happens when you’re looking the other way

I decided not to enter my two mandalas in the Mukilteo Lighthouse Festival art show. No, it’s not because I don’t think they’re good enough; it’s because a) I’ve figured out it will cost a minimum of $25 apiece to frame them, (b) then add $12 apiece to enter them, (c) find slide film, (d) take and develop slides (never done that before), (e) and then drive them up to Mukilteo on (f)K’s birthday.

I’m feeling really overwhelmed with life and I decided that I really don’t need the extra stress, and I will try again next year.

In the meantime, I am a little more than half-finished with the Traveling Journal project I’m working on with some other mail-art/journalists (yay!), which I’m planning to finish up and mail out this weekend. I’m also trying to make some ATCs here and there (they’re really easy to make at work; don’t require archival materials, and don’t take very long, plus I get some drawing practice), and studying, studying, studying.

I’m just about to join the Northwest Collage Society (NWCS) because I really want to get involved with a local group of artists, and they are (obviously) all about collage. :)
